What we collect
When you create a Kartela account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile information those providers share (name, email). We store the flashcards, decks, folders, and study activity you create in the app so they can sync across your devices. If you add a photo to a card, we store that image in your account. Daily study reminders are scheduled locally on your device; we do not collect a push-notification token for them.
How we use it
Your account data is used solely to provide the Kartela service: authenticating you, storing and syncing your decks and study progress, and — if you use the ChatGPT integration — receiving AI-drafted flashcard sets into your account for you to review. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Where it's stored
Data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore, Firebase Authentication, and Cloud Storage for card images), a cloud infrastructure provider. Card images are private to your account. We do not share your flashcard content with third parties except as needed to operate the service (e.g. our cloud hosting provider).
Your choices
You can review, edit, or delete any deck or card at any time from within the app. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data (decks, folders, flashcards, study activity, and your ChatGPT connection) from Settings → Account → Delete account.
